Incontinence is a common and very troubling problem. It has many causes ranging from a simple urinary infection to complex congenital abnormality and neurological diseases. Quite often diagnosing the cause is fairly easy and it is unlikely you will require any invasive investigations. Sometimes if the problem fails to respond to initial treatment a test called urodynamics may be required. This involves passing a small catheter and measuring the pressure in the bladder.
